• Phản ứng: bạc gặp lưu huỳnh trong không khí, mồ hôi, nước hoa → tạo lớp bạc sulfide (Ag₂S) màu sẫm trên bề mặt. Bạc 925 (92,5% bạc) nào cũng phản ứng như vậy theo thời gian.The reaction: silver meets sulphur in the air, in sweat, in perfume → a dark silver-sulphide (Ag₂S) layer forms on the surface. Every piece of 925 silver does this over time.
• Oxy hoá chủ động: tại xưởng, lớp sẫm được tạo có kiểm soát bằng dung dịch chuyên dụng trên toàn bộ bề mặt, sau đó phần nổi được đánh sáng lại. Vùng lõm giữ màu tối, gờ nổi sáng — hoa văn tách khỏi nền.Deliberate oxidising: in the workshop the dark layer is created under control across the whole surface, then the raised areas are polished back. Recesses stay dark, ridges stay bright — the pattern separates from its ground.

It does not peel or flake; it only wears gradually where the piece rubs most.

• Tương phản sáng – tối là bố cục. Mỗi thiết kế được tính từ đầu với hai sắc độ: chỗ nào để tối, chỗ nào đánh sáng, sáng đến mức nào. Bỏ lớp oxy hoá là bỏ một nửa bố cục.Light–dark contrast is the composition. Every design is worked out from the start in two tones: where stays dark, where is polished, how bright. Remove the oxidising and half the composition goes with it.
• Bề mặt sống cùng người đeo. Phần nổi sáng lên theo cọ xát, vùng lõm sẫm dần theo thời gian. Sau một năm, chiếc nhẫn có sắc độ riêng của tay người đeo — không chiếc nào giống chiếc nào.The surface lives with the wearer. Ridges brighten with wear, recesses deepen with time. After a year, a ring carries the tone of its owner’s hand — no two alike.
• Đúng với chất liệu. Bạc vốn sẫm màu theo tuổi. Giữ oxy hoá là nhận điều đó thay vì che đi bằng lớp mạ rhodium phải mạ lại hằng năm.True to the material. Silver darkens with age by nature. Keeping the oxidising accepts that, rather than hiding it under a rhodium plate that needs redoing every year.

04Chăm sóc bạc oxy hoáCaring for oxidised silver

• Không dùng thuốc tẩy bạc, không ngâm dung dịch làm sáng, không đánh bằng kem. Chúng ăn lớp sulfide ở cả vùng lõm — hoa văn phẳng lại, mất chiều sâu. Đây là cách duy nhất làm hỏng bề mặt oxy hoá.No silver dip, no polishing solution, no polishing cream. They strip the sulphide from the recesses too — the pattern flattens and loses depth. This is the one way to ruin an oxidised surface.
• Lau khô bằng khăn mềm (microfiber hoặc khăn lau bạc) trên phần nổi sau khi đeo. Không chà vào khe.Wipe dry with a soft cloth (microfibre or a silver cloth) over the ridges after wear. Do not rub into the grooves.
• Tránh nước hoa xịt trực tiếp, nước biển, hồ bơi, hoá chất tẩy rửa. Đeo sau khi trang điểm và xịt nước hoa.Avoid perfume sprayed directly, seawater, pools, cleaning chemicals. Put the piece on after make-up and perfume.
• Cất trong túi zip hoặc hộp kín khi không đeo lâu — hạn chế không khí là hạn chế xỉn.Store in a zip bag or closed box when not worn for long — less air, less tarnish.
